I would have created a blog right after my trip to Jamaica but i was waiting for my 45 minute youtube video to finish uploading after 4 days. Craziness! Anyways, My 5 days in Jamaica was a huge accomplishment as I literally traveled to four corners of the island: Kingston, Ocho Rios, Negril, and Montego Bay. Although it wasn’t the first time traveling alone, it was however the first trip alone to another country. Crazy and brave were few of the many terms Locals or my own friends used to describe me on this trip. Even tho this trip was for pleasure and I had my fun, I consider my travels like homework to my own benefit in life and for me as a person. I learned how to spend and use another currency other than my own. I certainly learned how I should blend in with locals since my whole trip practically was with locals.

Unfortunately Jamaica is a poor country and I have much respect for its peoples struggle to live and survive, even if that means getting harassed and hustled in the street. Most of my trip was on the road around the island but doing so has given me the pleasure to see the smaller towns and some of the way of life. Along the way I have met many great people some who have helped guide me around unfamiliar places. Jamaica is one beautiful island with a lot to do and see. Unfortunately I didnt get to do it ALL but i am satisfied with being able to say “Ive been there”. From Jamaica’s capital city, to Negrils cliffs, Bob Marleys home, to overlooking Ocho Rios and blue sea. This trip was a breakthrough in my future travels whether I am alone or not. In conclusion, it truly was an honor to be on the island just 3 weeks after Jamaica 50th anniversary.

One Love and happy travels everyone. Onto planning the next trip: Bermuda
